Updates: 19th Nov 2022
Multi-account may not be available for all users. As an alternative, you can register for a separate account using a different email.
How to add another account?
Login to owner and go to accounts page. Then click Add Account. By default, you can add up to 5 accounts. Feel free to contact us if you need to increase this limit.
You can add multiple accounts for a single login. This allows you to manage multiple stores without the need to maintain multiple login credentials.
How does billing work for multiple accounts?
Billing is handled on account-level. Each account will have its own separate billing details and subscription plans. If you have 3 accounts with paid subscriptions, you will be charged for all these 3 accounts.
Each OnVoard account can only connect to 1 store
This is to ensure data integrity and avoid mixing data across multiple stores. Let's say you have the following stores:
mysamplestore-1.com
mysamplestore-2.com
You need to use 2 different accounts to connect to these 2 stores, irregardless of the ecommerce platform (Shopify/BigCommerce/EasyStore) it is running on.
You will be prompt to switch account if you try to connect to a different ecommerce store.
Different OnVoard accounts can't be connected to the same store
This is to avoid conflicts in configurations for your ecommerce platform. For example, let's say if we allow 1 store to be connected to 2 different accounts, A and B. Given the following scenario:
- Account A set
install scripts
as turned on. - Account B set
install scripts
as turned off.
In this case, OnVoard won't be able to decide if we should install scripts onto your store since both accounts specify different install settings.
Best Practices for Multiple Accounts
- When using multiple accounts, always allocate 1 dedicated account for each store.
- Never mix store connection across accounts. Doing so will taint your data since customers, products, and orders data from both stores will now be treated as one. This will be extremely confusing and hard to maintain.
- OnVoard has controls in place to prevent mixing of data across multiple stores.
