For Amazon SES, both OnVoard and Amazon SES DNS verifications must be live before the smtp profile will be eligible for sending.

For domain verification with Amazon SES, there will be 2 layers of verifications for dns records before smtp profile is eligible for sending. Even when you have updated your dns records correctly, it may take at least a few minutes for dns to be fully propagated and status to be updated on all platforms.

OnVoard DNS Verifications

The first layer of verifications will be done by OnVoard. We'll check your dns records immediately when you click "Check DNS Records" button.

Amazon SES Domain Verification

The second layer of verifications will be fetching your domain verification status from Amazon SES. The dns records checked are the same as the ones checked by OnVoard. But Amazon SES need to verify it as well on their end before domain is eligible for sending.

Based on our experience Amazon SES may take a few minutes to update dns records statuses. Thus, please be prepared to wait for at least a few minutes for Amazon SES to update domain verifications status (even when you have added dns records correctly).
